The UA Chapter of SAE would like to thank Paul T. Glessner for coming to Tuscaloosa on March 30, 2007. Mr. Glessner gave a fantastic seminar highlighting the important topic of vehicle aerodynamics. We hope you enjoyed Alabama as much as we enjoyed you. Thank you Mr. Glessner! |

Letter from the President:

Alright, welcome to another year of UA SAE! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer, for some of us, it meant classes here. Either way, we have more new faces from the freshman and recently transferred students on campus and hopefully that means more new faces in SAE. We worked very hard last year to receive the honor of the 2008 Honeywell Outstanding Collegiate Branch Award and we also received the 2008 AWIM Community Service Grant from the SAE Foundation for our work with Tuscaloosa Middle School. I hope this year can be even more successful. It will take hard work from the members and a lot of dedication from the Officers, but I think that it will be beneficial to all. Like any organization, you only get out what you put into it. If you want to join SAE and jumpstart your college career to show you’ve had the experiences you need for the workforce you can go on SAE.org and sign-up or give me a shout through e-mail. As you can see on the links to the left we have many activities to participate in to give you the practical experience from your classes that you wouldn’t normally get. Plus, you have a unique opportunity to meet faculty that you will most definitely will meet through your classes here at the Capstone. So let me take this opportunity to welcome you again to our website and I hope you let one of us know if you want to join! -Tim |
